The European Commission has launched an initiative to modernize the legal environment for digital services in the European Union. It published drafts of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Digital Markets Act (DMA) on December 15, 2020. The DSA among other things, deals with issues relating to the provision of cross-border digital services. The DMA specifically addresses the largest platforms, described as “gatekeepers”.
The Commission had invited feedback from stakeholders to be submitted by February 15, 2021.
